The latest research into online customer service confirms that consumer confidence in e-banking is still high and on the increase. The survey conducted by eDigitalResearch and IMRG has indicated that most users welcome the speed and convenience that banking online can offer, whilst they are also becoming less concerned by online security .
With researchers Interviewing 3000 people across the UK, a conclusive 4 out of 5 people asked indicated a preference for online over in-branch banking . Confidence in the safety of online banking appears to be at an all-time high with 65 per cent said to be feeling "comfortable" making payments online.
Regarding concerns about internet banking, online security was deemed only the second biggest problem, behind a lack of personal interaction. The publication of this research comes at a time when online fraud is believed to be on the rise. Last month's Zeus Trojan made headlines after stealing banking information from over 100,000 UK residents.
Associate Director of eDigitalResearch, Lloyd Viney, said: "This is a clear indication of the growth in consumer confidence, with many people happy to rely on existing security measures if it means greater convenience, more competitive pricing and a faster service online. There are a host of different payment options available today which don't rely on credit card details to be provided, which is helping to boost consumer confidence."
