MBNA offers customers free McAfee Online Banking Security suite

Online card customers with MBNA are being offered a McAfee Online Banking Security suite, worth around £60, free for one year.

The complimentary software keeps PC's safe and secure and includes virus protection, spyware, site advisor security, parental controls, a firewall to repel hackers and a restoration service to back up important files.

Richard Honey, E-Commerce Executive for Bank of America Europe Card Services, which operates under the MBNA brand in the UK, said: "We are delivering more added-value for our customers and this new partnership with McAfee is testament to that. We want to give our customers the confidence to shop and bank online knowing that we are doing all we can to deliver the layers of credit card security protection they want and expect."

After 12 months customers have the choice to cancel the protection, or enrol after the first year for another year at a discounted rate of £29.99. MBNA also provides Sitekey, an anti-phishing tool unique in the UK credit card market which helps to identify a customer and vice versa when banking online .
