New figures have shown that online banking is continuing to grow in popularity. During January, 11 million people logged into at least one banking account in the UK, representing 33 per cent of the total UK online population. Online banking had previously been surrounded by fears of fraud, though the latest figures suggest a consumer confidence in banks security methods.
The research suggests that Lloyds TSB were the most popular bank amongst online customers in January, with 2.8 million visits. The Royal Bank of Scotland Group had the most online customers, meanwhile, with 2.9 million registered users, 2 million of whom are registered with Natwest and 900,000 with the Royal Bank of Scotland .
