Financial services provider launches youth banking account

Mon, 30 Apr 2007

Youth banking customers have been put on alert after a financial services provider unveiled details of a new banking account designed specifically for their needs.

The Premier 21 current account range from Alliance & Leicester is open to people aged between 16 and 21 years old and includes features such as a Visa debit card and 24-hour online banking access.

Moreover, accountholders who want to be able to check their banking status on the move may also be excited to learn they will be able to access banking details over their mobile phone via a 24-hour service.

Helen Palmer, current accounts manager at the financial services provider, explained why it had decided to launch the new banking facility.

"Many high street banks overlook the needs of young people outside of the undergraduate group," she said.

"We think it is especially important to recognise those who are just starting out in working life and offer them support."

In addition to current accounts, Alliance & Leicester also offers other financial services ranging from savings accounts to personal loans.
