Small businesses looking to simplify their online banking could be boosted by the latest offering from Alliance & Leicester.
The new option offers organisations with a turnover of less than £1 million the opportunity to open deposit accounts and current accounts via an online service.
Alliance & Leicester also states that the accounts which will be available via the online banking service are "award winning".
Although allowing small businesses to complete the entire application process over the internet, those applying will need to complete a signature form to activate the account.
Steve Jennings, director of business banking at Alliance & Leicester commercial bank, said that the move was a logical step, as an increasing number of businesses are choosing to manage their finances via online banking.
"Business owners can now apply for an account in minutes, speeding up the account opening process plus business owners can also apply for additional services such as business loans and overdrafts at the same time," he remarked.
Alliance & Leicester's online banking service also allows users to manage standing orders, view statements and pay bills over the internet.
