Lloyds TSB has launched a new banking option for UK students.
The account offers a free iPod shuffle and membership to the Youth Hostels Association, which has hostels across the world.
At 512Mb, the iPod shuffle can hold 120 songs, has a 12-hour rechargeable battery and weighs 22 grams.
The bank's internet banking service is also available to users, along with free mini statements and balance updates once a week via text message.
Furthermore, the banking option has an interest free overdraft of £1,500 for three years, rising to £2,000 if students need to study for longer.
Marcus Banks at Lloyds TSB student banking said: "Making the transition from school to University isn't always easy and freshers face a financial whirlwind as they deal with tuition fees, student loans and the increased cost of living."
He adds that choosing the right student account is vital and users should take time to weigh up the merits of each.
Students should not "leave it to the last minute" or sign up for the first account they find, as it could end up being expensive in the long-term, Mr Banks warns.
