Lloyds improves internet banking

Thu, 29 Sep 2005

Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) could benefit from improvements by Lloyds TSB Business to its online banking services.

Business banking customers on the move could now apply for business loans through its online banking service.

Other improvements include text alerts on mobile phones and a higher limit for cash machine withdrawals.

The bank is the first to allow business banking customers to use internet banking to apply for overdrafts and business loans online, as well as have instant access to their savings accounts.

"Technology is revolutionising the way small businesses manage their banking and finances," said Steven Robinson from Lloyds TSB Online for Business.

"The upgraded service enables SMEs to unlock their bank account and mobilise their finances, freeing up valuable time and letting them get on with running their business," he added.

Within the last year more people have signed up for the online service and around a third of all Lloyds TSB Business customers are now registered for internet banking, 200,000 of which are SMEs.
