Lloyds TSB Internet banking has launched an electronic service allowing customers to view and search bank statements online.
The new Internet banking service will allow customers to view and search for specific statement entries by date, amount or payment. Entries dating back to July 2002 will be searchable. Specific paper statements can be ordered free of charge.
Internet banking director Matthew Timms said this new online service would make things even easier for customers, as millions of customers want to be able to manage their money when and where they choose.
As part of the service, customers can choose the environmentally friendly option of no longer receiving paper statements. The bank also dedicated 10,000 trees to the fist customers that sign up for this service in order to give something back to the environment.
The trees were planted in Donkleywood, Northumberland, with the help of climate change company Future Forests. The trees will cover an area the size of six football pitches.
