Charity Banks cash Isa enters Which? best rates table

Mon, 07 Mar 2011

Charity Bank has improved its notice cash Isa to 2.5 per cent which has sent it straight into Which?'s Best Rate tables.

The cash Isa savings account, which is being promoted as the world's first social Isa, is only available by post and it can be opened with £250 or more. Transfers from other cash Isas can be made into the account. A notice period of 33 days is required to make withdrawals and interest is paid on the account once a year in December.

Charity Bank is the only regulated UK bank which is also a registered charity . It is fully authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) will cover deposits of up to £85,000.

Further, it is the only bank in the UK that uses depositors' money solely to support charitable organisations and customers who demand greater levels of transparency from the banking sector will be attracted by its policy of publishing details of every loan it makes.
