Review of finances could save money, says Alliance and Leicester

Wed, 01 Apr 2009

High street bank Alliance and Leicester has urged people to avoid being an April fool by reviewing their finances and getting a better deal on their current account .

Those who want to take advantage of the £100 cash bonus for signing up to the bank's Premier current account have until tomorrow (April 2nd) to do so and they will also be offered no monthly fee, zero per cent interest on arranged overdrafts for the first 12 months and a free annual multi-trip European travel insurance worth up to £60.

Recent research by the company has showed that 67 per cent of British people have not changed their current account in the last decade.

Steve Gracey, spokesman for Alliance and Leicester current accounts, said: "Time is running out for those who want to take advantage of the £100 cash bonus for switching to Alliance and Leicester's Premier current account, which ends on Thursday 2nd April."

A recent survey by Fairinvestment.co.uk showed that 44 per cent of British people are putting any money left at the end of the month into savings such as current accounts during the recession .
