Online banking costs Pru boss

Thu, 24 Mar 2005

Insurance giant Prudential has ousted its chief executive.

Jonathan Bloomer left the company after failing to secure the sale of internet banking arm Egg.

Egg was one of the first successful online banking brands but the Pru has been seeking to sell it off for some time.

Mr Bloomer's departure has been welcomed by investors.

He will be replaced by Mark Tucker, who rejoins Prudential after a stint at HSBC.
