Many people admit they spend more time finding the perfect fit pair of jeans than finding a savings account that best suits their banking needs, a recent poll found.
In an online survey of a thousand people, 40 per cent admitted they spend almost twice the amount of time shopping around for a pair of jeans than they do on selecting the best savings account or current account for their banking needs.
Consumer watchdog Which? found that while the average adult spend anything from one to three hours choosing a pair of jeans, less than a third spend that amount of time thinking about their savings accounts.
"We all make decisions about how to spend our money every day, but how well informed are we really?" asked Louise Hanson, the head of campaigns at Which?.
She urged consumers to educate themselves and to make the most of their money by using the hints and tips offered by the group on its website.
Many savings accounts offer different interest rates, special joining-up deals and other benefits. This makes it worthwhile spending some time weighing up the pros and cons of different savings accounts in order to find the saving account best suited to every individual's banking needs.
