A new offshore banking facility has been launched so clients can track their accounts online, 24 hours a day.
Alliance & Leicester International Limited (ALIL) is behind the new scheme called MyBankOffshore.
The internet banking service allows customers to access their current balance, current rate of interest and their transaction history.
"With a large percentage of our customer base in far off places, we knew there would be a need for internet banking," explained the managing director of ALIL, Simon Hull.
ALIL contacted its customers to find out exactly they would want to see in such an online service, explained Mr Hull.
"Taking the feedback on board we developed the comprehensive MyBankOffshore facility in line with their needs and we are confident that it will receive a positive response, especially from those expats in different time zones to ourselves."
ALIL's new service will include a secure messaging system which allows customers to communicate directly with the bank at any time of the day.
They will also be able initiate transactions from a minimum of £1,000 to a maximum of £25,000 all online.
Mr Hull finished by saying: "From today our customers will have the freedom to control all aspects of their accounts with the assurance that it is safe and secure, all from the comfort of their own home, wherever they live."
ALIL has customers in 141 different countries worldwide.
